Dave's is located on Avenue of the Americas, between 16th and 17th streets, in the famous Chelsea section of New York, between midtown and downtown, and is easily accessible by all means of public transportation. We are open every day, except major holidays and believe in personalized service with a friendly, multilingual staff. There are no bright, flashing lights, no loud music, and no high-pressure salesmen. All this combines for a most pleasant shopping experience.
Founded in 1963, Dave's moved to its present location in 1999 and is managed by second and third-generation family members. The store has been selected as Carhartt's "Retailer of the Year" and presented with the prestigious "Hamilton Carhartt Award of Excellence." Dave's has also been featured on BBC's Rough Guide to New York, as well as chosen by Maxim Fashion, U.K., as one of the "World's 80 Greatest Shops." In addition, Dave's is Zagat rated as an "Outstanding Value" in their New York City Retail Shopping Guide.
